Second Annual Recovery Over Dinner announced for July 11th

The second annual Recovery Over Dinner will occur on July 11, 2017, at Two Rivers Steak and Fish House in Pasadena, MD. This event, sponsored by Recovery Anne Arundel, brings together people from all walks of life, who are concerned about or have experienced the effects of addiction.

This year’s speaker is Anne Arundel County native and local sportscaster, Keith Mills, who will share his story of hope – the struggle of addiction, and the redemption of recovery. A Q&A session concerning the current drug epidemic and community efforts to help those in need follows Mills’ talk.

“The heroin epidemic in Anne Arundel County is destroying our families,” said Mandy Larkins, Supervisor at Anne Arundel Medical Center’s Pathways and Chair of Recovery Anne Arundel. She continues, “Recovery Anne Arundel, local stakeholders, and faith-based communities are partnered with state and county governments to combat the problem.”

“Recovery is possible,” said Angel Traynor, founder and director of Serenity Sistas’ Inc.  recovery homes for women and coordinator for Recovery Anne Arundel. She continues, “With compassionate support, those new to recovery can become productive members of their communities, returning to their roles as mothers/fathers, sisters/brothers, sons/daughters, and reliable employees, or even college students who go on to do amazing things in the community.”

Ticket cost is $50 and includes a four-course Chef’s Menu and a $20 contribution supporting the sixth annual Annapolis Recovery Walk scheduled for Saturday, September 23, 2017.   For more information and to purchase dinner tickets visit www.recoveryannearundel.org and click on the events tab.
