| July 20, 2017, 10:32 PM

Baysox FieldAdrian Marin drew a walk-off walk with two outs in the 9th and the Bowie Baysox (51-46) scored the final five runs in a 7-6 victory over the Altoona Curve (49-46) on Thursday night at Prince George’s Stadium in Bowie.

Austin Hays singled to lead off the ninth, advanced to second on an infield single, went to third on a walk and scored the winning run on the walk issued to Marin.

RHP Luis Heredia (1.0 IP, 2 H, R, ER, 2 BB) was tagged with the loss for the Curve and falls to 2-3 on the year.

RHP Ryan Meisinger (1.2 IP) earned the win for the Baysox to improve to 4-1 on the season.

The win clinched the season series for the Baysox against Altoona.

In the home half of the eighth, DJ Stewart drew a one-out walk, stole second, advanced to third on a throwing error charged to Altoona catcher Jin-De Jhang and stole home as part of a double steal to tie the game at six apiece.

The run was charged to Curve RHP Miguel Rosario (1.2 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 2 K).

Leading 6-5 at the time, Altoona had a chance to extend the lead with the bases loaded and one out in the eighth, but Meisinger got Pablo Reyes to ground into a 6-4-3 double play and end the inning.

A three-run sixth brought the Baysox within a run at 6-5 as a walk and an error put two men on, Marin plated both via a two-run double and scored on Erick Salcedo’s RBI double.

Altoona starter Alex McRae (n/d) was charged with the five runs (one earned) on six hits while walking three and fanning two in six innings of work.

The Baysox got on the board first with a pair of runs in the third as a single, double and hit by pitch loaded the bases with one out before Garabez Rosa reached on an RBI fielder’s choice and a throwing error charged to Altoona SS Cole Tucker allowed a second run to score on the play.

Edwin Espinal’s leadoff solo shot in the fourth off of Bowie RHP Brandon Barker put the Curve on the board and cut the lead to 2-1.

In the five-run fifth, Altoona had runners at the corners with two outs before Espinal and Logan Hilldelivered back-to-back RBI singles and Jhang knocked home both with a three-run shot off of Barker to make it a 6-2 game for the time being. All five runs came with two outs.

Barker (n/d) gave up six runs on six hits while walking one and fanning four in 2.0 IP.

Baysox starter Jesus Liranzo (n/d) allowed one hit to go along with a walk and two strikeouts over three shutout innings.

Salcedo (2-3, 2B, RBI, R) and Austin Wynns (2-4, 2B, R) had a multi-hit game for manager Gary Kendall’s squad, while LHP Garrett Cleavinger (2.1 IP, 2 H, K) had a scoreless outing in relief.

Hays’ single in the ninth extended his hitting streak to 11 games.

The series continues on Friday at 7:05 p.m. with RHP Lucas Long (6-3, 1.91) on the mound for the Baysox against Curve RHP Tanner Anderson (7-8, 4.01).
