Drugs, road rage, and an assault keep County officers busy in Severna Park and Cape St. Claire

Drug Arrest In Severna Park

In July 2017, detectives from Eastern District’s Tactical Patrol Unit (TPU) and Tactical Narcotics Team (TNT) received complaints in reference to drug sales and use being conducted in the Severna Park and Arnold area shopping center parking lots. The complaint described several females selling and using illegal drugs inside a white ford Windstar van.

On July 17, 2017 detectives were conducting surveillance in the above areas. At approximately 7:25 p.m., detectives observed a vehicle matching the description located in a parking lot in of the 500 block of Ritchie Highway in Severna Park. The vehicle was followed and minor driving infractions were observed. The vehicle was subsequently stopped, and while detectives were speaking with the two occupants, they observed drug paraphernalia in plain view. A search of the vehicle was conducted and as a result, detectives located the following:

  • 43.3 grams crack cocaine (approximate street value $4,300)
  • 40.9 grams of heroin (approximate street value $4,800)
  • 23.7 grams powder cocaine (approximate street value $2,300)
  • Digital scale
  • $1784.00 US Currency

Both subjects, identified as Lindsey Nicole Alt and Heather Elizabeth Beaver, both of Pasadena, were placed under arrest and transported to Eastern District for processing. Once at Eastern and additional .4 grams crack cocaine was found on the driver inside under her under garment. Both subjects were charged with three counts of possession with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of paraphernalia.

On July 17, 2107 at 12:23 p.m., officers responded to the 900 block of Ridgeway Drive in the Cape Saint Claire for an assault. Upon arrival an officer made contact with the suspect, Michael Lynn Travers of Cape St. Claire, who was holding a female on the kitchen floor and assaulting her. The suspect refused to obey verbal commands and immediately became combative and assaulted the officer.

At this time the officer radioed for assistance and deployed a Taser to subdue the suspect. This prompted numerous officers to respond. As additional officers arrived on scene the suspect was taken into custody.   The female was transported to a local hospital for numerous injuries sustained from the assault. The officer did not suffer any injuries.

The suspect was charged with first and second degree assault, false imprisonment and reckless endangerment on his wife. He was also charged with resisting arrest and assault on the police officer.

 Road Rage In Severna Park

On July 17, 2107 at 11:49 a.m., officers responded to the Kohl’s parking lot located in the 500 block of Ritchie Highway in Severn Park for an assault in progress. When officers arrived they met with two motorists that were involved in a road rage incident while driving northbound on Ritchie Highway from College Parkway. The two stated that they had pulled into the parking lot got out of their vehicles and confronted each other.

During the confrontation one of the subjects, James Aaron Soliman of Arnold,  a 17 year old male juvenile, pulled out a folding knife and cut the other subject in the upper arm. Soliman was arrested and charged as an adult with first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment, and weapons violations.  The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment and released with a minor penetrating wound.
