Brooklyn man convicted of sexually assaulting family member

Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney Wes Adams announced yesterday that Demetrius Troy Wallace, 43, of Brooklyn, was found guilty of three counts of Second Degree Rape, two counts of Second Degree Sex Offense, and one count of Sex Offense of a Minor by Anne Arundel County Circuit Court Judge Michael Wachs following a four day trial.

“The victims of sexual assault often find it difficult to escape such abuse when the perpetrator is a trusted member of their own family,” said Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney Wes Adams. “I am grateful to the victim’s friend, who displayed courage when deciding to report this incident in the pursuit of justice.”

On November 17, 2015, the Annapolis Criminal Investigations Section received a case from the Child Advocacy Center in reference to a 15 year old female who had been sexually assaulted by an adult male family member during the month of November 2014.

Wallace faces up to 125 years in prison as a result of these convictions. Sentencing is scheduled for August 28.

Judge Michael Wachs presided over the case. Assistant State’s Attorney Anastasia Prigge prosecuted the case on behalf of the citizens of Anne Arundel County.
