Arnett makes it official for next run for Annapolis Alderman

Ross ArnettOn July 17th Ross Arnett ended any further speculation about his intentions to run for re-election by filing to continue as the alderman from ward 8. Ross is proud of his record as “the Independent Voice for Eastport” and hopes to spend the next four years finishing the work that he began during the Moyer, Cohen and Pantelides administrations to fix the city’s long term liability problems and reduce the city’s growing structural deficit. He is on-record as opposing the recently adopted city budget as he sees too many of the city’s fiscal challenges being swept under the rug or pushed off onto the future with an ever-increasing debt burden.

Ross has also focused on the challenges facing the city’s Housing Authority with public safety improvements a major focus since he was first elected and responded pro-actively to the concerns of the Stop the Gunfire citizens group by pushing the city to hire a new police chief. Ross is optimistic about the initiation of more community policing by the Annapolis Police Department – something he has long advocated for. He has made the protection of our quality of life through responsible development and environmental protections a priority as well. Ross is known for doing in-depth research on issues of importance to his constituents including holding periodic town halls and sending regular email updates to seek community input. He hopes to continue to represent the vibrant, actively-engaged Eastport community.
