Ten Oaks Partners (parent company for Annapolis Athletic Club (AAC) in Annapolis, MD, and Coastal Fitness in Ocean City, MD) announced that, as of July 13, 2017, it has added another great local, Annapolis area health and wellness club, Edgewater Fitness, to its family of clubs.
Located at 5 Mayo Road in Edgewater, MD, Edgewater Fitness is a 42,000 square foot, multi-recreational club serving more than 3,800 members. Edgewater Fitness offers a wide array of cardio equipment, group fitness classes, free weights, and weight machines. Edgewater Fitness has been owned and operated by Larry Ray since 2013.
“We are excited to continue Edgewater Fitness’ focus as a community based, family focused, sports, wellness and recreational club,” said Jim Bolduc, Ten Oaks Partners’ Managing Partner. “With the acquisition of Edgewater Fitness, we will continue our growth by taking the best practices of both clubs, AAC and Edgewater, to serve the greater Annapolis community,” he continued.
Former owner Larry Ray added, “I started my Edgewater Fitness journey as a consultant. When Gold’s Gym left, the landlord of the facility asked me to help, so I came on-board in an effort to sustain the club for the community. As my interests in the club increased, I knew I wanted to bring in a group that could assist in taking Edgewater Fitness to a premier level. Ten Oaks Partners is that group! I am so pleased to remain a minority owner and thrilled about the future of Edgewater Fitness!”
Since the founding of AAC in 2003 by Mike and Susan Myers and the transition to Ten Oaks Partners in 2014, the group has been committed to providing the communities it serves with quality wellness and fitness services. Ten Oaks Partners has committed to providing capital investment to improve Edgewater Fitness’ facilities and services over the next three years. Ten Oaks will also provide membership options that expand community access to sister sites at AAC and Coastal Fitness. The combined synergy of teams from AAC and Edgewater Fitness will also enhance the variety of personal trainers, group fitness instructors, and services available at each location.
