A pair of RBI doubles in the second inning from Marin and Erick Salcedo (2-4, 2B, RBI, R) extended the lead for Bowie to 3-0.
Stevie Wilkerson’s two-run shot off of Whitehouse in the top of the third opened up a 5-0 advantage for the Baysox.
Whitehouse (1-2) allowed the five runs (four earned) on five hits to go along with two walks and a strikeout in 2.2 IP.
Rosa (3-5, 2B, RBI, R) doubled with one out in the fifth and scored later the inning on an Armando Araiza RBI single that gave the Baysox a 6-0 edge.
Akron got on the board in the sixth with Luigi Rodriguez’s solo shot off of Grimes, which cut the lead to 6-1.
