A holiday kick-off celebration at one local restaurant led to a merrier Christmas for Annapolis families in need.

Proceeds from the Second Annual Blackwall Bash Merry Motown celebration, held December 3rd at the Blackwall Hitch on Sixth Street, provided Christmas Eve gourmet meals delivered to the doors of ten families identified by the Annapolis Salvation Army.

“We are part of this community and look for ways we can make a difference,” said James King, CEO of Blackwall’s parent company Mid-States Management. “It was gratifying to see the response from not only the folks who joined us for the Blackwall Bash, but also from our restaurant staff who took this project to heart and played Santa, delivering meals on Christmas Eve. We look forward to continuing this tradition next year.”

The Second Annual Blackwall Bash featured music from renowned regional band NightLife along with endless champagne and hors d’oeuvres. Proceeds from ticket sales went toward providing the holiday meals. The Third Annual Blackwall Bash is tentatively scheduled for early December 2017.
