Severna Park students to participate with Wreaths Across America for Leadership Project

wreaths across americaSeverna Park High School students Jessica Barnard and Kathryn Ryan have partnered with Wreaths Across America for their Leadership III service project. The two student leaders plus their team are participating in the wreath laying at Annapolis National Cemetery on December 17, 2016.

At Severna Park High School, as a part of their signature program, the Leadership Institute is a program that allows students to extend their leadership roles beyond the classroom, where in senior year, the students in the institute are to plan and execute a service-learning project on their own, as well as leading a group of younger leadership students to help them carry out duties of the project. This project encourages students to get involved in their communities and helping those who are in need of service, or just an extra helping hand. This year, senior leaders Kathryn Ryan and Jessica Barnard will join up with Wreaths across America to raise money to sponsor wreaths to lay on graves of fallen soldiers at the Annapolis National Cemetery.

The project, Remembrance Wreaths, has a mission to raise money for wreaths to be laid on graves of our fallen soldiers. For the project, the group wants to raise at least $250 to sponsor 25 wreaths.
