Police investigating mid-day stabbing death in Glen Burnie

Ikea JacksonOn December 5, 2016 at approximately 1:53 pm, officers responded to 144 Mountain Road in Glen Burnie for an assault in progress. When officers arrived, they located an adult female victim lying outside the apartment building that appeared to be suffering from stab wounds. The fire department transported the female to Baltimore Washington Medical Center where she died from her injuries.

Anne Arundel County Homicide detectives responded to the scene to investigate this death as an apparent homicide. The victim was identified as 28 year old Ikea Nicole Jackson from Glen Burnie. Ms. Jackson’s body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the exact cause and manner of death.

Northern Patrol Units secured the scene as homicide detectives and evidence technicians checked the area for items of evidentiary value. Detectives canvassed the area and interviewed witnesses and are piecing together the chain of events that led to the death of Ms. Jackson. At this time, detectives are attempting to determine the motive for this assault and to speak with persons known to the victim. There are no similar incidents that have occurred in the area.
