Annapolis man killed in Crownsville head-on crash

On December 20th, 2016 at approximately 4:28 pm officers responded to a report of a head-on motor vehicle collision on Generals Highway near Dunton Rd in Crownsville. The investigation revealed that a green Toyota pick up had been driving aggressively since turning from Old Generals Hwy and was traveling southbound on Generals Hwy repeatedly passing slower cars against the double yellow line. The driver of a black Ford pick up pulled all the way to the right shoulder in an attempt to avoid the Toyota that was in her lane when the vehicles struck head-on in the northbound shoulder.

The driver of the Toyota, Francisco Rauda Aguilar of Annapolis, was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis with life threatening injuries where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the Ford was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore with serious injuries. The primary cause is the Toyota’s failure to remain right of center and passing where prohibited by pavement striping. It is unknown whether alcohol or drug use was a factor in this crash.
