Voilence continues as Annapolis Police investigating two separate shootings over weekned

shootingThe Annapolis Police Department is investigating two separate shootings in the City’s Eastport section that sent two men to the hospital with critical and serious injuries.

The first shooting happened on Saturday at 12:23 p.m. when officers responded to the 1000 block of Monroe Street for a report of shots being fired.  Officers located an adult male shooting victim.  The victim was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center via helicopter with serious injuries.  Detectives are actively investigating this incident.

The second incident happened at 10:34 p.m. when officers responded to the area of Frederick Douglass Street and Medgar Evers Street for a report of a shooting.  Officers working in the area located an adult male shooting victim in the 1100 block of Madison Street.  The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Detectives are actively investigating this incident.

The locations of the two shootings are approximately a block away and adjacent to the public housing communities of Harbour House and Eastport Terrace.
