The exhibition will go online at www.nshof.org on Thanksgiving, November 24, 2016.

“America was shaped by explorers who raced to get here, men-of-war ships that raced to defend her, clipper ships that raced to move their products to port, and watermen who raced to get their catch to market,” commented Lee Tawney, NSHOF Executive Director. “Sailing has been inextricably linked to the American Experience. The New Yorker Sailing Covers exhibition is a reflection of that rich history.” The exhibit will include nearly 40 covers that feature sailing in the cover artwork. Additionally, visitors can purchase framed prints of the covers online and a select number of original illustrations signed by the artists.

The National Sailing Hall of Fame would like to thank Chuck Townsend, National Sailing Hall of Fame Board Member and Chairman of Condé Nast, and Becky Mickel, Special Projects and Licensing Manager, Art & Archive Development at Condé Nast, for arranging this exhibition.

The covers will also be featured in postings on NSHOF’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.
