Leukemia Cup announces dates for 2017

Leukemia CupThe Maryland Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) announced the official dates of the 2017 Annapolis Leukemia Cup Sailing Regatta®. The Chesapeake Bay Yacht Racing Association (CBYRA) Sanctioned regatta will be held on June 3rd, 2017, with the Annual Summer Gala at the Annapolis Yacht Club (AYC) on June 2nd. The honorary chair for this year’s Leukemia Cup Regatta is Governor Larry Hogan, who is being honored at a reception in March to celebrate the upcoming regatta in its 25th Anniversary.

The Annapolis Leukemia Cup, has a goal of raising $250,000 for the mission of LLS. The event weekend will begin with the Seersucker & Linen Summer Gala, Live and Silent Auction at AYC on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. This popular event will feature a fabulous live and silent auction, open bar, elegant passed hors d’oeuvres and a buffet dinner. This event is open to the public and tickets must be purchased in advance. Details can be found at www.leukemiacupmd.org. 

On Saturday, June 3, 2017, the day begins with the Regatta at 10 am. Last year’s race attracted more than 99 boats, and 2017 is on track to be just as exciting. Eastport Yacht Club (EYC) will then host the “All Hands on Deck” Cruise and Luncheon, which recognizes the 2017 Honored Hero Skippers – local survivors and patients (the luncheon is by invitation only). The post-race awards party and Rock the Dock for a Cure Party will also be held at the EYC after the race. The public is invited to attend this festive and fun charity event, which features live entertainment by the electric newgrass sensation Swamp Donkey. General Admission Tickets are just $25 and include a BBQ dinner.
