Historic Annapolis presents Overheard in Annapolis

Brice HouseHave you heard the latest gossip around town? This November, come spend the afternoon in the James Brice House and let some famous Annapolis women fill you in!

Overheard in Annapolis: An Afternoon with Annapolis Women will take place at 5:00pm on November 20 in the James Brice House, 42 East Street. Tickets are $10 for General Admission and free for members and volunteers of Historic Annapolis. To register, visit the Historic Annapolis website at www.annapolis.org.

Several re-enactors will be portraying Annapolitan women such as Mrs. Paca, Mrs. Ogle, Mrs. Eddis, and Mrs. Potts in a presentation and discussion. These women were very important in Annapolis in the 18th and 19th centuries and many of them left behind invaluable letters, documents, and objects, which provide unique insights into their time period.

“This is a really exciting new event for Historic Annapolis,” says Lisa Robbins, Vice President of Education and Interpretation at Historic Annapolis. “It is a great opportunity for us to focus on women’s history and the important role that women played in colonial Annapolis.” 

Attendees will be able to interact with the re-enactors and participate in the lively discussion. Overheard in Annapolis is sure to be a popular event, so order your tickets in advance and come learn about some of Annapolis’s most important historical women!
