Quest Medical Labs coming to Safeways in Hanover and Gambrills

quest-logoResidents in Hanover (MD) and Gambrills (MD) are now able to access convenient laboratory services inside their local Safeway, through a new agreement between Quest Diagnostics (NYSE: DGX), the world’s leading provider of diagnostic information services, and Albertsons Companies, one of the largest food and drug retailers in the U.S. and parent company of Safeway.

Quest Diagnostics is offering lab services at its Patient Service Centers inside Safeways located at 3526 King Street in Alexandria, at 7643 Arundell Mills Boulevard in Hanover, and at 2644 Chapel Lake Drive in Gambrills. The new locations replaces the Quest Diagnostics Patient Service Centers previously located at 5249 Duke Street in Alexandria, at 2401 Brandermill Boulevard in Gambrills, and at 1412 N. Crain Highway in Glen Burnie, Maryland.

The new Patient Service Center, located near the in-store pharmacy, is designed to provide a comfortable patient experience in a secure and private environment, with frosted windows, a clean, relaxed reception area and a private restroom for patients’ use. Quest provides patients with pagers that allow them to shop until their appointment time, providing a more convenient experience. Walk-in patients are welcome, but appointments are encouraged to minimize waiting for service. Appointments can be scheduled online at QuestDiagnostics.com/Appointment, through the MyQuest patient portal and mobile app, or by calling 1-888-277-8772.

“The Patient Service Centers are an aesthetically, environmentally and technologically cutting edge medical facility built in a familiar, popular retail location. We’re excited about making it more convenient to patients by offering lab services right where they shop, underscoring Quest’s commitment to providing convenient healthcare directly to patients,” said Jim Davis, Senior Vice President and Group Executive – Regional Businesses. “Our patients will find the same professional and caring staff with the highest quality lab testing services, in a clean, comfortable, private setting that is more seamless with their daily lives.”

“This is a natural extension of the robust health and wellness offerings found throughout our stores. We’re excited that our customers will have access to healthy foods, pharmacy services and lab testing from the world’s most trusted diagnostic company – all under one roof,” said Mark Panzer, Senior Vice President of Pharmacy, Health & Wellness at Albertsons Companies.

The new PSCs will operate Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4:30 p.m. (closed for lunch from noon to 1 p.m.), and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
