Man dies while swimming in Spa Creek near Truxtun Park

drowningOn September 2, 2016, at 2:22 pm, the Annapolis Fire Department received a call for a possible drowning at Truxtun Park.

A witness stated that he was swimming with a friend, about 30 feet from the shoreline, and his friend went under the water and did not come back up.

The Annapolis Fire Department did an extensive search of the area, along with personnel from the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, and DNR Police, and located the victim in several feet of water.

The victim, a male, was deceased.  The medical examiner is currently en route to recover the body and determine an exact cause of death. DNR Police will be handling the investigation.
