Debra Dempsey of Crofton, Md. recently donated $25,000 to the Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) Foundation. Dempsey said she wanted to help those who aspire to be in law enforcement like her father had been.

The  donation funds the Lieutenant John N. Dempsey Law Enforcement Memorial Scholarship at AACC. This scholarship honors Dempsey, a dedicated District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Officer from 1951-1977.  The scholarship will support students who are studying in the AACC Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice program who intend a career as a police officer.

For more information about the scholarship, or to make a tax-deductible donation, email [email protected], call 410-777-2515 or visit www.aacc.edu/foundation.

The Anne Arundel Community College Foundation’s mission is to secure and steward private funds to enhance the educational endeavors of the college. The foundation works in partnership with the community and the college to support and enrich the vision of the institute by accomplishing goals not otherwise possible.
