Man seriously injured in Linthicum accident

I695 and Camp MeadeOne person suffered serious injuries following a motor vehicle collision in Linthicum Saturday morning.

Firefighters responded to the area of I-695 and Camp Meade Road just before 8:00 a.m. for a reported auto off the roadway. Arriving firefighters located a single vehicle accident in which a vehicle appeared to roll over off an overpass, travel down an embankment and across a set of railroad tracks before travelling over a second embankment and landing in a concrete drainage culvert.

The 28-year-old male driver and sole occupant was removed from the vehicle by firefighters and then moved back to the roadway. Based on accounts from the driver, the accident may have occurred as early as 1:00 a.m. He was transported by paramedics to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with injuries that were serious but not believed life-threatening.
