Glory Days Edgewater

Glory Days GrillGlory Days Edgewater is scheduled to open at the Village at Lee Airpark in Edgewater on September 19th. The sports themed American grill and bar works to combine an ever-changing menu of  with entertainment that appeals to all ages.

At Glory Days Grill, you will find a bar, patio, banquet rooms, and of course a main dining room. Large screen televisions are placed throughout to make it your go-to destination for sports–or if you are a kid, maybe cartoons!  Along with the full bar and restaurant, the Edgewater location will feature catering as well as the ability to host your casual banquet or event.  Sports teams, get your reservations in early!

Inside

Glory Days Grill is a true neighbor and they integrate the neighborhood within each location. They have 27 locations in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and Florida with all but 7 that remain corporately owned from headquarters right here in Maryland!  In the Edgewater location, you will see giant images of local sports highlighting the “glory moments” of sports–just before the winning touchdown is caught…just before the ball sinks in the hoop with no time on the clock…just before a knockout punch is thrown in a boxing match..you get the idea. And where there are not images or televisions, you will see the fabulous artwork of local artist Cindy Fletcher-Holden* who has been commissioned to art-ify all other Glory Days locations in Maryland and Virginia.

According to Charissa Bauhaus, the Director of Marketing for Glory Days Grill, this is one of the most high-tech restaurants they have ever built. You can’t turn around without seeing a television and many of them are gigantic 90″ LED flat screen televisions. According to Bauhaus, there are no plans to have live music regularly, but there may be exceptions on special occasions.

The staff will begin training on or around September 10th with a few soft-opening events leading into the official opening on Monday, September 19th!  A Monday opening is strategic for Glory Days Grill–first of all it is Monday Night Football (Eagles and Bears) and their infamous (or famous) $5.99 Burger Monday.

The restaurant will have 7300 sf inside plus a 500 sf covered patio. There will be interior seating for 225. In addition, there is a large banquet room that can seat an additional 50 people which can be divided into two smaller rooms. The banquet rooms and patio can all be reserved separately for your function. And, lest you think that the kitchen cannot handle the restaurant and a banquet–there is a completely separate line in the kitchen to handle that crowd.

Now hiring

Glory Days Grill is still looking for great people. Applications for cooks and wait staff can be made in person at the Village at Lee Airpark next to Hudson & Fouquet during normal business hours.

Many may remember that Glory Days Grill used to have a location in Bowie, but that closed about a year ago. Other area locations include Pasadena, Ellicott City, and Towson.

*  Oh, about that asterisk… go check out Cindy’s show that opens at Maryland Hall on September 10th and runs through October! And if you can make the artist’s reception–it is September 15th from 5pm to 7pm!  Seriously–do that.  And get a burger or more at Glory Days Grill when they open!
