Baysox drop 10-homer game against Reading

baysoxIn a game that featured ten home runs, Reading’s Dylan Cozens hit the last one. His eighth inning, two-out grand slam broke an 8-all tie to drop the Baysox in the series finale by a 12-8 final.

The game featured an astounding ten home runs. Four players hit multiple homers in the game. Baysox first baseman Joey Terdoslavich hit two home runs driving in five and Cozens, Rhys Hoskins and Andrew Pullin each homered twice for Reading.

The Baysox grabbed a 4-0 first inning lead after a three-run home run from Terdoslavich. But Reading came back with four solo home runs to lead 5-4. The Baysox then got two-run home runs from Terdoslavich and Latimore to lead 8-5 in the fifth. But Reading hit two more deep flies to tie the game in the bottom of the fifth.

Cozens grand slam came with two outs in the eighth. He was 0-for-8 with six strikeouts in the first two games in the series. In the last two he hit five home runs and drove home 12 runs. Reading scored 25 runs in the final two games of the series.

With the loss the Baysox finish up their season long road trip with a 4-4 record. They dropped the fginal three games of the series in Reading.

 It will be Navy Night presented by the Naval Federal Credit Union on Friday, August 5th when the Baysox return home. The 7:05 p.m. first pitch will see Matthew Grimes on the hill as the Baysox take on Richmond.
