5 homers by Reading down the Baysox

Baysox 2016Reading’s Dylan Cozens hit three home runs in a five home run night for the Fightin’ Phils as the Baysox fell 13-0 on Wednesday night. The Baysox have a chance to split the series with a win in the series finale Thursday night.

Bowie did have a chance to get back in the game early. Down 5-0 in the fourth inning Garabez Rosa reached on an error by centerfielder Osmel Aguila who nearly collided with second baseman Scott Kingery allowing the pop fly to drop to open the inning. Chance Sisco and Joey Terdoslavich followed with consecutive singles and the bases were loaded.

But Reading starter Thomas Eshelman got out of the jam. He got a comebacker for a home to first double play on a ground ball from Henry Urrutia and he struck out Sharlon Schoop to get out of the jam.

The night though was about Dylan Cozens who hit three home runs and drove home seven runs. He joined teammate Rhys Hoskins in the 30 home run club. It is the first time Reading has had multiple 30 home run hitters in a season. And there is still a month left in the campaign.

The series and road trip will close for the Baysox on Thursday night as David Hess toes the slab for the 7:05 p.m. start. Coverage begins 20-minutes prior to first pitch on wnav.com and via the Tune-In Radio App by searching Baysox.

It will be Navy Night presented by the Naval Federal Credit Union on Friday, August 5th when the Baysox return home. The weekend will feature fireworks Friday and Saturday and the Minion Manny Bobblehead Doll on Sunday the 7th. Get tickets now at baysox.com.
