Pamela Cole Finlay, owner and director of Specs Events, is the 2016 Service Above Self honoree selected by the Rotary Club of Annapolis. The Service Above Self Award is Rotary International’s highest honor for non-Rotarians, recognizing those who have displayed exemplary humanitarian service, at any level  and in any form, with a focus on active involvement in helping others on a continuing basis. The recipients also are named Paul Harris Fellows, created to honor the founder of Rotary International, with the funds donated to their organizations.

“Pam is an Unsung Hero and a community activist who has donated her time and talents to raise more than $22 million for non-profit organizations both as a paid professional and as a volunteer,” according to Nancy Almgren, the Annapolis Rotarian who nominated her.

Ms. Finlay has been involved in Annapolis community events including the Annapolis Irish Festival, the Community Foundation, the Anne Arundel Medical Center Foundation, Historic Annapolis Foundation, and multiple other projects here, in Washington, DC, and nationally. Additionally she was executive director of the Wellness House where she increased its funding by more than 200%.

The Rotary Club of Annapolis recognized her many contributions just for the club, including providing support to its Black Tie and Diamonds gala, its annual Crab Feast and the St. Patrick’s Day parade float.
