The PRSO will underscore Buster Keaton’s masterpiece, THE GENERAL, with the original orchestral musical score while the film plays on the screen. Come see Keaton at his comedic best, in a story of love, locomotive, and laughs!

The Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra is “the premier American ragtime ensemble” as hailed by the Washington Post, and is rapidly becoming the leading professional ragtime orchestra in the United States. Formed by young virtuoso Andrew Greene at the University of Maryland in 2010, the Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra recreates the syncopated stylings of a bygone era – Ragtime, Theater, and Dance music. The ensemble is composed primarily of young musicians, age 30 and below.  The PRSO has appeared at leading venues including The Kennedy Center and The Library of Congress in Washington DC, historic theaters, state-of-the-art performing arts centers, colleges, universities, and concert associations.

Maryland Hall is supported by a grant from the Maryland State Arts Council, an agency funded by the State of Maryland and the National Endowment for the Arts, and a grant from the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County. Additional support comes from sponsors including: The Helena Foundation, AT&T, Comcast, Wells Fargo, RPH Architecture, M&T Bank, Sandy Spring Bank, Towne Transport, Manis Canning & Associates, Annapolis Hyundai, BB&T, Black Turtle Services, Kure, RBC Wealth Management, The RC Group, Double Tree Annapolis, Maryland Eye Associates and Ziger/Snead.
