The Force is still strong in Bowie. Star Wars Night on June 25th

| June 15, 2016, 11:09 AM | 0 Comments

BaysoxThe Bowie Baysox will be in the center of an intergalactic conflict when the team hosts Star Wars Night at Prince George’s Stadium Saturday, June 25, as the Baysox play the Altoona Curve beginning at 6:35 p.m. The event features characters in movie-quality replica costumes, lightsaber battles, postgame performances, and a fireworks extravaganza after the Jedi Knights and Sith Lords have a final showdown.

For the third season, the Baysox are offering members of Louie’s Kids Club the chance to become a ‘Padawan for a Day.’ The special Kids Club Star Wars ticket pack is $30 and includes two Box Seat tickets to the game and early access to the stadium beginning at 5:00 p.m. for an exclusive Star Wars character Meet and Greet event. Louie’s Kids Park will also be open and free from 5:00 until 5:30 p.m.

Each Kids Club member who purchases a special ticket package for the event will be entered into a free raffle for the chance to become a ‘Padawan for a Day.’ The child who is selected will be able to accompany the Star Wars characters throughout the night and participate in lightsaber battles. Additional tickets for family members can be purchased for $15. For each ticket package purchased, $10 will be donated to the Bowie Health Center Foundation. This special ticket package can be purchased by members of Louie’s Kids club on www.baysoxshop.com or by calling Chris Rogers at 301-464-4813. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

“Star Wars Saturday is one of the most fun events we host each season because it’s such an authentic, movie-like experience. Over the years, this event has continued to grow in popularity and we have continued to find new elements to make this night more enjoyable for all of our fans,” said Baysox Promotions Manager Chris Rogers. “Fans will actually be able to see all their favorite and most reviled characters like Darth Vader, R2D2, Boba Fett, and many more on the concourse. We are also happy to bring back the Kid’s Club Star Wars ticket package that will allow all of our young fans the chance to meet some of their favorite characters up close.”

The Baysox have long supported the rebel alliance, hosting Jedi Knights, rebel pilots and other members of the Rebel Legion. The conflict begins when Darth Vader, storm troopers and other members of the Republic invade the ballpark to quell the resistance. The battle will be decided on the field as Jedi Knights and Sith Lords hold lightsaber battles between innings and before the fireworks.

The stadium concourse will be crowded with Star Wars-themed tables and activities, including memorabilia displays and many of your favorite Star Wars characters (good and bad; human and robot). Since the Baysox began hosting a Star Wars theme night, it has become one of the most popular games during the season and fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance of this special night at www.baysox.com or by calling the Baysox Ticket Office at 301-464-4865.

The 2016 Bowie Baysox season is presented by Money One Federal Credit Union. The Baysox 2016 season is underway. Don’t miss a minute of the action as the Baysox defend their 2015 Eastern League Championship. Single game tickets are now on sale at www.baysox.com.
