Southwest adds service to San Jose, CA from BWI

southwestSouthwest Airlines announced its November 2016 schedule update today, including new nonstop service between Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport and San Jose, CA.  The daily transcontinental service between BWI Marshall and Mineta San Jose International Airport is scheduled to start on November 6.   

“This Southwest service will provide a convenient connection between two regions known for technology, innovation, and growth,” said Ricky Smith, Chief Executive Officer for BWI Marshall.  “We know our passengers will appreciate this direct link, along with the value and customer service offered by both Southwest and BWI Marshall.  The new flights will be an important addition for business and leisure travelers.”  

Passenger traffic continues to grow at BWI Marshall, with new airlines and service to new markets.  More than 23.8 million passengers flew through BWI Marshall in 2015, an all-time annual record for passenger traffic.  Through February 2016, BWI Marshall has experienced eight-straight monthly passenger records. 

Southwest Airlines is the largest carrier at BWI Marshall.  The airline recently announced that it would start new nonstop service between BWI Marshall and Sacramento, CA in August 2016.
