Kip Kunsman, assistant dean for Workforce Development at Anne Arundel Community College’s School of Continuing Education and Workforce Development, has been elected to the Board of Directors for the National Council for Continuing Education and Training (NCCET), effective July 1. As an NCCET board member, Kunsman will work toward bringing innovative and leading-edge training to workforce development and lifelong learning.

Kunsman brings more than 25 years’ experience in workforce development to the position. He began at AACC in 2006 as the director of the Center for Workforce Solutions and served in that position for five years before becoming the director of AACC’s CyberCenter in 2011. In that role, he oversaw contracts for both credit and noncredit cybersecurity courses and training and developed strategic partnerships to enhance the college’s cyber programs.

Before coming to AACC, Kunsman worked in training and professional development at Baltimore City Community College’s Business and Continuing Education Center. He also worked as a workforce development coordinator in the Mayor’s Office of Employment Development in Baltimore City and as manager of Administrative and Regulatory Operations for the Maryland Governor’s Workforce Investment Board.

AACC has been a member of NCCET for years. The organization contributes to individual, community, workforce and economic development by:

•    Exercising leadership as an American Association of Community Colleges Affiliate Council to provide quality education and training services.

•    Providing quality continuing education and professional development for members.

•    Promoting corporate citizenship in communities.

•    Encouraging innovative opportunities for lifelong learning.

•    And preparing a skilled workforce to be competitive into the 21st century.
