About 250 people mingled around Snap-On tool carts and sports cars on lifts in the service bays of Porsche of Annapolis to see a preview of hot summer fashions during Hospice Hundred’s Fashion for a Cause, held May 12. The spacious and spotless venue performed beautifully for the popular fundraising event that raised about $90,000 for Chesapeake Kids, a program of Hospice of the Chesapeake, which supports children living with and affected by advanced illness.

The looks that came across the runway were 2016  summer fashions and accessories provided by Annapolis clothing retailers Sandro Ferrone, owner Paula McLoud; Tommy Bahama; and Brooks Brothers; and Hillary Randolph jewelry, with hair and make-up by Up Do’s for I Do’s. Guests enjoyed food provided by The Westin Annapolis and Miss Nancy’s Fancy Bakery and beverages courtesy of the Buck Distributing and The Fox Group.

The evening’s sponsors included The Wilburn Company, Porsche of Annapolis, M&T Bank, Charter Financial Group, Datalink Interactive and Reliable Contracting, Inc.

Serving as the event’s emcee was professional race car driver Jason Cherry, who also is a member of Hospice Hundred and owner of Mission Escape Rooms Annapolis. Though the evening’s party atmosphere, loud music, cocktails and trending styles helps to make it a place to see and be seen, Hospice of the Chesapeake President and CEO Ben Marcantonio also pointed out the importance it serves for the youngest in the care of the organization. “While hospice is often associated with the elderly, I’m here to tell you we see way too often that children and young families are struggling to live life with a life-limiting illness in their child or unborn baby,” he said. “Thank you for being here tonight and helping to make that struggle just a little bit easier.”
