Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood to visit Baysox next Sunday

Daniel_Tiger's_Neighborhood_characterThe Bowie Baysox announce today that Daniel Tiger will be coming to the Baysox game Sunday, June 5 during a single admission doubleheader against the Akron RubberDucks beginning at 1:05 p.m. The appearance by Daniel Tiger, presented by Maryland Public Television, will include opportunities for fans to meet and take their picture with the star of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. 

The Baysox will also be holding a Daniel Tiger/Mister Rogers Sweater Drive to benefit area homeless shelters in need. Fans of all ages are encouraged to donate new or gently-worn sweaters, as well as other clothing, when they come to the game. The Baysox will collect the clothing at the front gates of the stadium and at the WTOP Fan Assistance Center. 

“We are excited that our partnership with Maryland Public Television has provided us with this opportunity to have Daniel Tiger at a Baysox game,” said Baysox Assistant General Manager Phil Wrye. “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood is an extremely popular show among young kids today and we are happy to connect kids in this area with one of their television heroes.”

Members of Louie’s Kids Club can purchase discounted tickets and participate in an exclusive meet & greet session with Daniel Tiger from 11am-12pm before the main stadium gates open (tickets must be purchased in advance). Game one of the doubleheader will begin at 1:00 pm and will be played as a 7-inning game. Game two of the doubleheader will begin approximately 25 minutes following the end of game one. Tickets for this day’s event will allow fans to stay for both games of the doubleheader.
