The Baysox lost a late lead on Sunday afternoon and saw Erie rally to walkoff for a third consecutive game. An Austin Green two-RBI double sent the Baysox to defeat by a final score of 4-3.
Bowie grabbed the lead originally in the sixth inning. Glynn Davis doubled and reached third on a SAC bunt that saw a wide throw to first that did not get an out off the bat of Julio Borbon. Tucker Nathans then singled home Davis to tie the game at 1-1. Mike Yastrzemski would hit a sac fly to score Borbon and Bowie was up.
Baysox starter David Hess exited after six strong innings allowing just a run. Erie would tie the game in the seventh though on a solo home run from Harold Castro.
Glynn Davis got the Baysox the lead again though doubling to right-center to open the eighth. He later scored on a Yastrzemski single and Bowie had the lead once more at 3-2. But it would not be enough.
Eric Fornataro entered with two down in the eighth and got a big strikeout to end the inning. In the ninth inning though he walked consecutive batters to start the frame. Auston Green then grounded a double past the diving third baseman in Drew Dosch scoring both the tying and winning runs.
Bowie is back at home Tuesday, May 17th for a three-game series with Reading in a 2015 Eastern League Championship Series rematch. Tickets are available at 301-805-6000 or online at baysox.com.
