Beginning at 4:00 that afternoon, join more than 300 sailing enthusiasts at the Rock the Dock for a Cure Party at the Eastport Yacht Club, featuring live entertainment by Pressing Strings and Swamp Donkey Newgrass. Enjoy Gosling rum drinks, beer and wine, along with Rita’s Mango Italian Ice (with or without a splash of rum).

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Leukemia Cup Sailing Regatta is a thrilling series of events that combine the joys of sailing and the important task of raising money to cure cancer. Thursday, June 9, the Latitude Adjustment Party, kicks off the bi-annual A2B (Annapolis to Bermuda) Ocean Race—Public Welcome!

The Latitude Adjustment Party is Eastport’s best public block party (with dancing!) thrown by the Eastport Yacht Club to send off the Annapolis to Bermuda Ocean Race crews, and celebrate those who work in the Marine Trades. The event has a long and colorful history whose continued centerpiece is Wes’ famous Rum punch. Live dance music will keep Eastport a hoppin’ throughout the evening.

Latitude refers to the Annapolis to Bermuda Race and the latitudes that will be crossed during the race. Adjustment refers to the Marine Wizards who make adjustments to boats and maintain the boats in tip-top condition — not to mention the “attitude adjustment” that we all experience as nice weather returns and we enjoy being back outside.

The Latitude Adjustment Party is Eastport Yacht Club’s way to throw a great block party for the community. Come early — and stay late — as we wish “fair winds and following seas” to those who will depart the next day for the race to Bermuda and as we recognize those chosen as the 2016 Outstanding Marine Wizards of our community.

WRNR will be supporting the event with music, competitions and giveaways. Make sure to listen to WRNR the week prior to the event for the chance to win tickets to the Latitude Adjustment Party, concerts and more.  Then join EYC and WRNR at Eastport Yacht Club at 5:00PM on Thursday, June 9, with the Tiki Barbarians providing live music to keep Eastport rocking all night long, 7:00 – 10:00PM. Dance shoes suggested but flip flops and boat shoes are also great options. The frozen t-shirt contest is not to be missed.

American and Bermuda themed foods will be offered at reasonable prices. Lots of Gosling rum drinks, beer, wine and soft drinks will also be available along with Rita’s Mango Italian Ice (with or without a splash of rum) and frozen Dark ‘N Stormys.

EYC has designated the EYC Foundation (EYCF) as the 2016 beneficiary of the event. The EYC Foundation’s long-term vision connects kids with educational opportunities through sailing & boating. EYCF programming raises awareness about marine & maritime career opportunities and about stewardship of our Bay, oceans, lakes and rivers. Programs include: 5th grade STEM through Sailing & Boating; an annual Marine & Maritime Career Fair for grades 6-12+; scholarships for Jr. Sailing summer camps and Marine & Maritime Scholarships for college or technical training schools.
