Baysox looking for community heroes

Baysox2016The Bowie Baysox are seeking Community Hero Nominations for individuals to honor during the team’s annual Community Heroes Night Friday, June 3 at 7:05 p.m. Fans living in the area who know a community member worthy of recognition are encouraged to fill out the nomination form on www.baysox.com

If you know someone who has made a difference in their community, the Baysox want to hear about it. If you know a first responder who has saved a life, an individual who has helped the needy or someone who has acted selflessly to make their community a better place, the Baysox would like to help pay tribute to their commitment.

“This program will be a great way to recognize some of the individuals who have had a special impact in our community,” said Baysox Assistant General Manager Phil Wrye. “We hope to see neighbors come out and support one another and use this opportunity to say thank you to the many men and women that help make this area such a comfortable place to live and work.”

Nominations will only be accepted through the online form on www.baysox.com and all nominations must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. Friday, April 15. Following that deadline, the Baysox staff will select 12-15 nominees based upon the merit of the action or actions he/she has done to be nominated. Only local candidates will be considered.

Selected Community Heroes and their families will be invited to attend the Bowie Baysox game on Friday, June 3 to take part in ceremonies before and during the game. Each selected nominee will receive four complimentary tickets to the game and will also receive a gift package from the Baysox.
