Arts in the Park at Chesapeake Arts Center

arts in the parkOn Saturday, April 23, 2016, artist and musicians will join forces at the 3rd Annual “Arts in the Park Festival” at the Chesapeake Arts Center located at 194 Hammonds Lane, Brooklyn Park, Maryland 21225. Local artists will exhibit and offer their work for sale, while a festival of live music is presented from 11AM-3PM. The event is being sponsored by the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County.

The Chesapeake Arts Center is currently accepting Art Vendor application until April 6, 2016.Space is limited and early registration is recommended! To All Vendors, Please Note: There is a $10.00 fee to reserve a spot at the CAC Arts in the Park festival. Art application available under the “Arts in the Park” event on the CAC website at www.chesapeakearts.org.

The free outdoor festival will include a live performance by the U.S.Navy Country Current, Annapolis local band Fast as Lighting, Ilima Hula Studio of Maryland, Hands of Harmony, Brooklyn Park Middle School PVA, Corn Hole, Moon Bounce, local art vendors, Face Painting and all different types of art and entertainment for all ages!

The United States Navy Band Country Current is the Navy’s premiere country-bluegrass ensemble. The group is nationally renowned for its versatility and “eye-popping” musicianship, performing a blend of modern country music and cutting-edge bluegrass. This seven member ensemble employs musicians from diverse backgrounds with extensive high-profile recording and touring experience in the music scenes of Nashville, Tenn., New York, New Orleans and more. In the tradition of country music, each member is a skilled performer on multiple instruments. The band utilizes banjo, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, mandolin, fiddle, electric bass, upright bass, dobro, pedal steel guitar and drum set.

The Arts in the Park Festival is a great opportunity to see work of local artist and to enjoy some good music. For the music part of the festival, feel free to bring a lawn chair or blanket.
