Woman killed, another critically injured in Annapolis accident

The deceased victim is identified as 34 year old Ms. Shermekia Williams. Ms. Williams resided in the 700 block of Newtowne Drive in Annapolis. 

Ms. Jessica James Monique Wallace, 24 yeara old, was treated at University of Maryland Shock Trauma and released. Ms. Wallace is also a resident in the 700 block of Newtowne Drive in Annapolis.

The preliminary investigation has revealed the 2003 Infiniti was traveling on Forest Hills towards Bay Ridge Avenue when it failed to stop at the stop sign. The vehicle crossed Bay Ridge Avenue and struck a tree. The vehicle came to a rest on the driver’s side. The preliminary investigation indicates Ms. Shermekia Williams was the operator of the vehicle.


On March 21, 2016 at 10:39 p.m. the Annapolis Police Department received several calls for a vehicle accident on Bay Ridge Avenue at Forest Hills Avenue. When officers arrived on scene they located a single vehicle crash. The vehicle left the roadway and came to rest on its side. One person, a 35 year old female, was deceased at the scene. A second individual, also a 35 year old female, was flown by the Maryland State Police to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma in critical, life threatening condition.

Members of the Annapolis Police Department, with the assistance of the Anne Arundel County Police Department, are currently investigating the crash. At this time, the cause has not been determined.

Names will not be released until all notifications are completed.
