library cardOfficials from the Anne Arundel County Public Library Foundation today announced that tickets are now on sale for the annual For the Love of the Library fundraiser. This year’s event will be held at the Eastport-Annapolis Neck Community Library. The festive gathering is set for April 1, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at 269 Hillsmere Drive.

Guests will enjoy tantalizing hors d’oeuvres provided by Annapolis restaurants and caterers, as well as beer and wine served by local celebrity bartenders including Senator Ed Reilly, Councilman Jerry Walker, philanthropists John and Cathy Belcher, St. John’s College President Christopher Nelson, Herrington Harbour Marina Resort Owner Hamilton Chaney and former Capital Gazette

Newspaper Editor and Publisher Tom Marquardt.  County Executive Steve Schuh is serving as honorary chair of the event.

Tickets cost $50 per person with $25 being tax deductible. Participating restaurants include Baroak Cookhouse and Taproom, Carrol’s Creek Café, Harry Browne’s, Graul’s Market, Jalapeños, McGarvey’s Saloon & Oyster Bar, Paul’s Homewood Café, Royal Karma and Main Ingredient. Buck Distributing will provide beer.

In addition to great food and drink, guests can bid on auction items including: accommodations in Spain; an exclusive chef’s table experience at Baroak; a golf-getaway for two at Rocky Gap Casino Resort; and personalized three-course dinner for two with wine pairings at Vin 909 Winecafé.

Last year’s event raised nearly $40,000 for the library’s early literacy programs. This year’s event will benefit the library’s efforts to create collaborative spaces, connect county residents to technology, foster community engagement and ensure school readiness. Tickets are available online at the library’s website at www.aacpl.net/foundation or at http://tinyurl.com/hc9gt7j.
