Spend Saturday reading great books at St. John’s

librarySt. John’s College invites members of the Annapolis community to read and discuss timeless texts and the important questions they raise at Great Books Saturday. Sponsored by the Friends of St. John’s College, Great Books Saturday is a one-day program that features morning and afternoon seminars on classic works drawn from the St. John’s College curriculum or a reading chosen for the author’s thoughts and ideas which have universal relevance. Led by St. John’s faculty members, seminar offerings include Melville’s “Bartleby, the Scrivener,” Konrad Lorenz’s “Man Meets Dog,” and Plato’s “Euthyphro,” among others. Morning and afternoon seminars will be held on Saturday, February 27 from 9 to 3:30 p.m. Tuition is $50 per seminar; an optional lunch is available.
