Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney Wes Adams announced that Marcus Snipes, 24, of Severn, was sentenced to 15 years, suspend all but 5 years, for fourth degree sex offense and 1st degree assault of a female victim in the downtown Annapolis parking lot of St. Mary’s Parish and schools.

“This young man had a bright future as a star athlete and threw it away,” said Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney Wes Adams. “Long after the bruises heal, this victim will be forever impacted by the egregious actions of Mr. Snipes. I appreciate Judge Wachs for holding this criminal accountable.”

On April 25 2015, Snipes met the victim in downtown Annapolis. At the end of the evening, she began to walk home to Eastport. Snipes offered to give her a ride and walked her into the parking lot of St. Mary’s Parish and schools, where he proceeded to attack her. Two bystanders came to her aid. Police found Snipes in the back of a downtown Annapolis home on his cellphone.

Circuit Court Judge Michael J. Wachs presided over the sentencing. ASA Pam Alban prosecuted the case.
