In the vane of fleetwood Mac

In the vane of fleetwood MacAnnapolis Musicians Fund for Musicians will continue the critically acclaimed “In the Vane of” series by paying tribute to the classic rock band Fleetwood Mac on March 14th, 7:00 pm at Ram Head On Stage.  Local artists will perform one Fleetwood Mac cover song and then perform a second song in the style of, about, or reminiscent of the legendary act.  Tickets are $30 and available at www.ramsheadonstage.com with all proceeds benefitting the non-profit AMFM.

Artists for the show include Angela Charles, Gingerwolf, David Glaser, Peterbuilt, Michael K, P.J. Thomas, Dean Rosenthal, Timmie Metz Band, Pandora’s Box, Trekkie Jones, Second Hand News (Meg Murray, Angie Miller, Bryan Ewald, Josh Chapman & Brandon Bartlett), Meetwood Flack (including Keith Lanzoni & Brian Goddard), Carolyn Moyer, Larry Byrne, Peter Reichwein and an all-star finale.

This concert follows closely on the heels of the recent AMFM Tribute to David Bowie, which sold out in record time where artists played their favorite Bowie cover songs and payed homage to the late Starman, who had passed a week earlier.

The “In the Vane of” series is a concept where music fans can hear familiar songs and also listen to the songwriting talent of local artists.  “We are trying to cross-pollinate, where fans can hear their favorite songs and also be introduced to artists they may never have heard before,” says Sean O’Neill, one of the show’s producers.

Previous artists used as inspiration and tributes for “In the Vane of” were Led Zeppelin, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash and The Beatles.

“These famed musicians have influenced us in countless ways and it’s both fun and challenging to write a song pretending to be part of a band like Fleetwood Mac or Led Zeppelin” says P.J. Thomas, a frequent performer and co-producer of the show.
