Capitol Steps to perform at St. John’s College this weekend

capitolstepsThe Capitol Steps return to St. John’s! Known for their special brand of satirical, politically-themed humor, the Capitol Steps will perform in a fundraiser at St. John’s College to benefit student financial aid. The show will include a lively review of songs and spoofs that ridicule public figures across all party lines. The performance will be held in the Francis Scott Key Auditorium on Saturday, March 5 at 8 p.m. A reception with the performers follows the performance.

Tickets are $55 in advance, $60 at the door. For best seats, order tickets early. Reserve seats and purchase tickets online at www.sjc.edu/caritas-events. Or, send checks (before March 1) to Caritas Society, 60 College Ave, Annapolis, MD 21401; tickets will be held at the will-call table at the event.

Since they began in 1981, the Capitol Steps have recorded over 35 albums, including their latest, “Mock the Vote.”  They have been featured on numerous television stations, and can be heard twice a year on National Public Radio stations nationwide during their “Politics Takes a Holiday” radio specials.

This hilarious political and musical performance is sponsored by the Caritas Society of St. John’s College. Caritas Society members promote relationships between St. John’s College and the larger Annapolis community while raising financial aid funds for St. John’s students who cannot meet college expenses.
