The film festival is looking for a very special person to be its AD SALES CHAIRPERSON who will be
responsible for selling advertisements for the print program for the Annapolis Film Festival. Needs to be comfortable approaching businesses and individuals and selling on behalf of the festival. Will work with Resource Development Committee to coordinate outreach for ad sales. Will coordinate with Festival Production Office to generate ad sales and help drive revenue for the film festival. Dates needed: 1/14/16 – 3/7/16. All duties will be completed weeks before the festival starts, so our ad sales person will be able to enjoy the festival! Annapolis Police Department Auxiliary Unit
The Auxiliary consists of uniformed civilian volunteers providing assistance to the Police Department under the direction of the Support Services Division. It’s mission is to assist the agency through volunteer police service with assignments as designated. The Auxiliary serves as additional “eyes and ears” for the department, connecting with the community, in the performance of duties. It assists career police officers by providing supplemental services such as patrol, traffic direction, and fingerprinting to the residence of Annapolis through volunteer service. Special Olympics Maryland
The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for persons eight years of age and older with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community. Special Olympics Maryland has volunteer opportunities for people seeking to make an impact in the lives of adults and children with intellectual disabilities. Our year-round programs in sports training and competition regularly looks for coaches and assistants for consistent experiences, or competition and event volunteers for one-time/episodic opportunities. Project Clean Stream (PCS) 2016, April 2, 2016
The Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay has been connecting the public to their local outdoor space through Project Clean Stream for 13 years. The program culminates in a unified day of service when volunteers spend a few hours outside cleaning trash from parks, rivers and streams or otherwise improving their communities. These volunteers beautify the neighborhoods in which they live and work, but also gain awareness about the impacts they may have on the environment. Register Now! Providence Center
Providence Center is a nonprofit that provides employment, vocational training, recreational, retirement, medical day care, and transportation services to developmentally disabled adults. Volunteer with Providence Center and help make a difference in the lives of those served by the Center. Volunteers are a tremendous asset to our programs. You may have gardening skills to help in our greenhouses, an artistic flair to assist in our Art Institute, an entrepreneurial spirit that can help a participant start his own business, or just the desire to be a friend to someone, spending time over lunch, working on the computer or reading. Volunteers must be at least 16 and must go through a background check. We are happy to work with eligible students fulfilling community service requirements but ask that they volunteer a minimum of 40 hours. Regency Park Assisted Living
Regency Park provides supportive care to residents at their facility in Gambrills, MD. A volunteer driver (with 4-wheel drive vehicle), age 21 and up and with a good driving record, is needed to transport caregivers to the facility in inclement weather conditions in the winter months. Rude Ranch Animal Rescue
Rude Ranch Animal Rescue is a volunteer-based organization dedicated to the rescue, care and adoption of homeless animals in the Maryland and DC area. Our goals are to find permanent loving homes for adoptable animals placed in our care; to provide a safe haven and rehabilitation to feral and neglected animals rescued from abusive situations; and to put an end to needless euthanasia because of pet overpopulation. Current volunteer needs include; 1. Spay/Neuter Assistant to help monitor animals while they recover from surgeries, get our surgical instruments ready for use and to promote our spay/neuter clinic; 2. Fundraisers for community outreach to recruit sponsors (donors), especially to support the new spay/neuter clinic; and, 3. Watershed Stewards Academy
WSA restores the waterways of Anne Arundel County through an innovative educational model that has rallied communities from Brooklyn Park to Herring Bay.
