One dead in early morning Severn house fire

FD_BannerOne person has died in an early morning fire in a home on the 1200 block of Old Camp Meade Road in Severn.

Anne Arundel County Fire Department crews arrived at 3:40am to find a fully involved home.  It took crews 40 minutes to control the blaze and when they made their way inside, they discovered one deceased person.

The home is a total loss and search crews and  investigators will enter the home later when it is safe to do so to determine the origin and to ascertain if there are any additional victims.

This is the 13th fire related fatality in the county this year.
