Heart of Gold gala announced by AAMC

300x250-banner-gala-animatedThe Anne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC) Foundation will host its signature fundraiser on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 5:30 pm to midnight at the Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor.  The “Heart of Gold” gala supports AAMC’s growing cardiovascular programs. This is the 50th anniversary of AAMC’s Foundation gala events.

This year’s event represents a new era: new location, new format and smartphone live auction bidding. The silent auction includes more than 100 excursions, experiences, sports memorabilia, jewelry and more. Festivities include dozens of gourmet food stations, dancing to the band, “Prime Time,” gourmet desserts, and a complimentary brunch for those staying overnight.

The event, which is being chaired by Mark and Lynne Powell and Jerry Segal, MD, has a variety of sponsorship packages available. Sponsorships start at $7,500 for a table of 10. To date, the event is being sponsored by: The IFF, Comcast, Creston G & Betty Jane Tate Foundation, The Powell Foundation, AAMC Medical Staff, Alacrity Collections, Hargrove, and RxNT.

Heart disease continues to be the number one killer in the United States. In the last year, AAMC’s heart and vascular programs cared for 3,000 inpatient cardiac cases and provided 17,000 outpatient cardiac visits. AAMC’s average door-to-balloon time in opening up a heart attack patient’s clogged artery is 52 minutes, one of the best in Maryland. Support for this gala will help AAMC to continue to meet the needs of its patients today and tomorrow.
