Pasadena crash kills 2, injures 8

fatal-accidentOn October 31st 2015 at 1030pm officers responded to Solley Rd near Chestnut Springs Lane for a report of a three vehicle head-on crash with two fatalities.

Investigation revealed vehicle #1 was traveling southbound on Solley Rd when it failed to remain right of center on a slight curve in the roadway. Vehicle #1 struck vehicle #2 head-on, flipped onto the roof and slid approximately 100yards. Vehicle# 3, also northbound on Solley Rd behind vehicle #2, was unable to stop in time and was sideswiped by vehicle #1 and also struck vehicle #2.

The drivers of vehicle #1 and vehicle #2 were both declared dead at the scene by Fire Department personnel. The passengers from vehicle #1 and #2, with serious injuries, were taken to Shock Trauma. The occupants of vehicle #3 were taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center with minor injuries.

The preliminary cause of the crash was vehicle #1 driver’s failure to remain right of center. Speed and alcohol are also believed to be significant contributing factors.

The investigation will be handled by the Traffic Safety Section.
