Annapolis banker named treasurer for local Optimist Club

CFG Community Bank is pleased to announce that Faye B. Currie, Vice President/Branch Manager for CFG Community Bank’s Annapolis branch, has been installed as Treasurer of the Annapolis Optimist Club.

Currie brings to her treasurer position 30 years of experience in the financial Fayeindustry, managing consumer, business deposit portfolios and consumer lending areas for banking institutions throughout Anne Arundel County.

The purpose of the Optimist Club is to develop optimism as a philosophy of life, providing scholastic, athletic and community-oriented activities since 1968.

“Giving back is a big part of my life, and having the opportunity to share my industry knowledge and expertise to help such a positive organization means a lot,” said Currie. “I love that this organization works with youth to shape such a positive life philosophy.”

In addition to an extensive background in retail banking, Currie, a mother of two sons, also shares a strong commitment to community service. An active parishioner of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Annapolis, and an alumna of St. Mary’s High School, Currie serves as a board member for both the St. Mary’s School Board and St. Mary’s Alumni Association. She is also a commissioned member of the City of Annapolis Financial Advisory Commission, an Anne Arundel County Public Library Diversity Advisory Board Member, campaign treasurer for City of Annapolis Councilperson Sheila Finlayson, Chairwoman of The Annapolis Chapter of the Links Incorporated-Service to Youth Facet, a member of the Annapolis High School Signature Program Integrated Stakeholders Team and Leadership Anne Arundel FLG12.

Currie has been employed with CFG Community Bank since June 2007.
