Screenshot 2015-09-18 15.29.26On Saturday, September 26th the SPCA will celebrate their 95th birthday with a major milestone celebration. On the SPCA property from 3pm to 5pm, guests can enjoy food, soda, beer, and wine. Of course, no birthday party would be complete without cake, balloons, and a moon bounce which will make all the kids, both young and old- very happy.  Lastly, all SPCA adopters and their canine alum are invited to join us for the SPCA’s Homecoming PAWrade.

Founded in 1920, the SPCA of Anne Arundel County is the largest and oldest animal welfare organization in Anne Arundel County that has been providing shelter and humane care for homeless animals in need. We fulfill our mission by promoting humane care and concern for the animals by educating the public, providing shelter and rehabilitation to companion animals in need, and work for the passage and enforcement of laws, which promote humane treatment of companion animals. At the SPCA, there is no time limit placed on how long an animal is available for adoption. We embrace animals in need – regardless of age, breed, or physical condition- and provide them with the care they deserve for as long as it takes us to find them a home. As a result of our efforts, in 2014 we achieved a life-saving rate of 97%- a 32% increase from 2011 and a 21% increase from 2012.

Can’t make it to the Birthday Party, but want to tell us about your SPCA alum? We love to hear the good news about our shelter alumni. Please share your story and photos on our Facebook Page or email them to [email protected]. If possible include the name of your adopted pet while he/she was at the shelter, and the approximate date of adoption.
