Londontowne SymphonyThe LSO opens its eleventh season with music about water—oceans, rivers and lakes—with the Anchors Aweigh concert at Historic London Town and Gardens in Edgewater on Sunday, September 27 at 3:00 PM.

The concert includes Grofe’s Mississippi Suite, Smetana’s The Moldau, Rodger’s Victory at Sea and Gliere’s Russian Sailor’s Dance. The orchestra will also premier an original work by local composer Greg Pascuzzi, titled Variations On The Navy Hymn. The highlight of the afternoon concert will come with Bach’s Concerto for Violin and Oboe, with the solo parts played by the orchestra’s own couple, Donna and Kerry Willingham.

The concert will be performed on the beautiful grounds of Historic London Town and Gardens, under tents in case of inclement weather.

The LSO’s season will continue in late October with the orchestra’s third annual Halloween concert, Spooky Sounds, Haunted Harmonies, to be performed at South River High School at 7 PM on Saturday, October 24. Along with haunting music, this spooky show will also feature the orchestra’s traditional costume contest for adults and children.
