The John & Cathy Belcher Institute led by Dr. Lou Lukas, Chief Medical Officer, Hospice of the Chesapeake, brings together health experts, advocates, and community members to further heighten end-of-life care. The couple’s $5 million donation to the nonprofit in 2014 provided the seed funding to launch the Institute. The community is invited to attend a Courageous Conversations Series, opening this fall at the Anne Arundel County Library – Severna Park Branch from 7 to 8:30 p.m. located at 45 West McKinsey Road, Severna Park, MD.

- Growing Through Grief: What the Sacred Sorrow of Grief Can Teach Us – Wednesday, Nov. 18: What is “normal” grieving? How do we give and receive help? Presented by Susan Coale, LCSW-C, Clinical Specialist, Chesapeake Life Center and Janey Blakely, MA, MDiv, PhD candidate., Pastoral Counseling, Loyola University of Maryland.
