Five people, including three children, were seriously injured in a motor vehicle collision Sunday night in Annapolis. Just before 10:30 p.m. units were dispatched to the area of Bay Dale Drive and Route 50 for a reported auto accident. Arriving units located a single vehicle accident with one occupant trapped and six other occupants injured. The trapped occupant was extricated in about five minutes. Two Maryland State Police helicopters were requested to the scene and transported four patients to the pediatric and adult trauma centers at John Hopkins Hospital. Patients transported by helicopter with serious injuries included a 45 year old male, a 41 year old female, a 14 year old male and a five month old male. A fifth patient, a 14 year old female was transported to Hopkins by paramedics. Two additional patients were transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center with minor injuries.
