Annual “Dog Days of Summer Cruise.” Watermark made a donation of $1,462 to the Anne Arundel County SPCA from the sold-out cruise. Around 95 people and nearly as many dog “pawsengers” stepped onboard the iconic Annapolis boat for food from Graul’s Market, treats for pets, a silent auction and a relaxing cruise down the Severn River. Music played while dogs kept cool in the summer heat with dips in baby pools on Harbor Queen’s top deck and human passengers stayed cool with drinks from the River Run Bar. Based off the success of the summer cruise, Watermark will usher in Fall with the SPCA on a “Dogtober Fest Cruise” on October 1!

President of Watermark Debbie Gosselin says, “We’re really happy about the success of the Dog Days of Summer Cruise and look forward to continuing our partnership with the SPCA of Anne Arundel County with an added dog cruise on October 1st. Having that many dogs on one boat draws a lot of attention at City Dock. Guests have been asking us about another cruise like this and we’re excited the SPCA is on board for another event! Harbor Queen is pet friendly every day so it’s really fun to see so many dogs enjoying a cruise together for a good cause.”

The event brings out animal lovers from around the Annapolis area. During the Dog Days of Summer Cruise, SPCA volunteers handed out leis for the dogs, golden retrievers enjoyed the breeze on the bow and friendly conversations were had between people and “pawsengers”. A mix of dogs from small to large – from Chihuahua to Great Dane and everything in between – socialized on Harbor Queen’s two decks while their human companions enjoyed the summer evening and a margarita or two. A good time was had by all two legged and four legged guests!

The Dogtober Fest Cruise will be a fun evening fundraiser open to the public on Thursday, October 1. Harbor Queen is an Annapolis icon; she offers an open air lower deck and fully open top deck so pups can enjoy the fall breeze. Guests will enjoy food from Graul’s Market, music, games, a silent auction and a full cash bar. Special refreshments will be served for Fido. The party starts dockside at 6:00 p.m. and Queen will depart at 6:30 p.m. for a one-hour cruise around the Annapolis Harbor.

Tickets for the cruise are $30/Adults, $15/Children 3-11, Free 2 & Under. Dogs cruise free! Half of ticket proceeds will be donated to the AACSPCA. Friendly on-leash dogs welcome. Advanced reservations are strongly recommended. Purchase tickets online at cruisesonthebay.com. Guests will check-in at Watermark’s ticket booth under the red umbrella at the end of Annapolis City Dock.

The Anne Arundel County SPCA is a private, non-profit animal welfare organization. The SPCA receives no funding from city, county, state, or federal government. They are supported by private donations.
