SustainaFest 2015 is almost here! This year’s event will be fantastic, the biggest and most feature-packed one to date. The 3rd annual film, music and education festival will be held at the Indian Creek Upper School on Saturday, September 12th starting at 1:00pm. SustainaFest brings together members, educators, entrepreneurs, change-makers, sustainability experts, filmmakers, musicians and other artists to celebrate successes and spur on new ideas for taking action to create a healthier, more prosperous and sustainable Chesapeake Bay region. Through the combination of live music, local cuisine, unique vendors, interactive educational exhibits, kids’ activities, and engaging demonstrations, SustainaFest 2015 will provide a fun-filled and inspiring day for the whole family.
Beginning at 1:00pm, festival-goers are invited to come and be entertained by some of the region’s best local musicians and world-class films while enjoying sumptuous food from local food trucks and adult beverages from sustainably-managed wineries and local breweries. Simultaneously, attendees can explore the work of a wide variety of innovative organizations, trend-setting businesses and action-oriented non-profits. Throughout the day, guests will have a chance to participate in healthy-living demonstrations, learn new recipes from the Lighthouse culinary students and tour two SustainaFest student-built, off-grid Tiny Houses. The all new Kiddie Korner gives younger guests a chance to express their creativity through fun and educational crafts and activities. Also new to the festival this year is the partnership with the B Local: Mid-Atlantic network which will highlight companies committed to using business as a force for good. The culmination of this jammed packed day will be a soul-stirring film showing brought to town by Telluride Mountainfilm on Tour. Stories of grassroots community action, heroic individuals, world-changers and jaw-dropping adventures will take festival goers on an exhilarating and inspiring journey.
Early-bird tickets are on sale now and seats for the Mountainfilm showing are limited. For full event details visit, www.sustainafest.org/annual-festival and send questions to [email protected]
